Paul Adams is a software engineer and the Director of Engineering at KDAB, the world’s largest consultancy dedicated to Qt. He is a Free Software advocate: mostly known as an active member of the KDE community, a Fellow of the FSFE and a Fellow of the OpenForum Academy.
Supporting and leading high-performance teams of software engineers and enabling those teams and their managers to develop, redesign and refactor software applications is what he does best. Enabling the team and each member to apply and enhance their skill sets whilst removing their obstacles is how he achieves this.
Paul is a Chartered IT Professional and a Chartered Engineer, as well as a published author with a passion for leading teams that create and continually improve. He has a strong affinity with agile processes and utilises them as a means for empowering teams; from the most junior member up to their project managers. Throughout his career he has worked in a variety of environments: system integration, product startup, software development consultancy. Most of these businesses have had a Free Software focus and, as such, he has gladly been a “hands-on” engineer; as is often expected from Free Software contributors.
