Meik Mense is visual designer at IXDS with over 7 years of experience in the digital field. He studied Media-Design at the school of applied sciences in Mainz and graduated in 2006. After working as a freelancer he worked for several years at mediaman GmbH as a web design Art Director. During that time he was responsible for graphics for customers like Daimler, Zurich, Bosch, Häfele, Kaeser and Alsecco to name a few. His duties also included leading small ever-changing teams of creatives and managing design apprentices.
Apart from pixel-perfect web-, app- and responsive design and a deep conceptual understanding, he has a strong passion for physical computing. He is fascinated by the idea of a perfect fusion of the physical and virtual world and is in a continuous search for new technical approaches and interfaces in which context and usability have absolute priority. Building small Arduino prototypes helps him to prove or disprove his ideas and concepts.
In his spare time Meik tinkers, plays the drums, keeps bees, collects classic handheld consoles and is mad for Dr.Who.
